CELERIS SUPPORTING US SPACE FORCE OPIR DIGITAL TWIN DEVELOPMENT

ANAHEIM, CA., October 13, 2022 - Under a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase II contract, Celeris is set to support prime contractor Sedaro with Digital Engineering (DE) support for a demonstration of their space system digital twin platform, Sedaro Satellite. The proposed R&D will involve enhancing the Sedaro Satellite digital twin platform to support turnkey integration with USSF model-based requirements. In addition, Celeris will work closely with Sedaro in joint development of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) digital twins. The goal is to demonstrate high-impact use for USSF end-users and customers. To make this happen, Celeris will be adapting their commercial DE solutions to allow USSF programs to connect SysML requirements regarding space vehicles and space architectures to high-level program objectives.

But how will this be possible? Through the innovative use of Open Model Based Engineering Environment (OpenMBEE) as a conduit for integration between Sedaro Satellite and SysML modeling in Cameo Systems Modeler. OpenMBEE's structured data repository, Model Management System (MMS), is connected to Cameo Systems Modeler and Sedaro Satellite via OpenMBEE Model Development Kits (MDK's). By adding SysML blocks to the existing "Sedaro Satellite Block Package" and incorporating these blocks as patch panels into USSF requirements SysML models, modeling in SysML can be linked to any Sedaro Satellite model elements.

To showcase the incredible potential of this technology, Celeris is integrating Cameo Systems Modeler and OpenMBEE into their SSC Cloud One environment. This will enable a demonstration with precise OPIR digital twins and a smooth transition of this new technology following the SBIR Phase II effort. “We are honored to be working with a cutting edge company like Sedaro in enabling their digital twin technology and the limitless possibilities it brings for space exploration.” said Rob Enrico, VP of Celeris Space and Missile Systems division.
