19-0704 ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRO‐MECHANICAL) - RANGE RECOVERY SYSTEMS
Celeris Systems is seeking a engineering technician in support of U.S. Navy operations at Keyport, WA., Bangor Recovery Systems Work Group for Pacific Northwest Range (PNW) operations. The work involves using state‐of‐the art electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, electro‐hydraulic, acoustic, computer‐based programs and solving engineering problems that are complex in nature. Past procedures may not apply due to the newness or uniqueness of design, approach or technology. As a Test Training & Evaluation competency Recovery Systems Group member, will also be responsible for providing fire control technical support for the various projects. Position requires ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot/repair these Recovery Systems while onboard Range Craft at piers or at sea and may require some travel. Is responsible to maintain technical competencies sufficient to support functional areas of recovery systems associated with the PNW Ranges.
As a Recovery Group member, the technician for PNW range systems will possess knowledge of including (but not limited to) Underwater Recovery Vehicles (TROV, CURV, SORD, VORTEX), USW systems, launch platforms, torpedoes, (MK48, MK48 ADCAP, MK54), mines, (MK60, SLMM, ISLMM), mobile targets, (MK30), and specially designed one‐of‐a‐kind test vehicles, (GTV, XTV, R&D UUV).
Knowledge of Engineering Test Plans
Knowledge of processes and external environment associated with the underwater recovery vehicle competency area.
Ability to provide technical assistance for specialized requirements of complex operations without compromising safety or environmental stewardship
Fabrication/repair of cables, hydraulic hoses and support hardware
Ability to read and interpret: schematics, drawings and diagrams
Experience with basic electronic, electrical and hydraulic systems
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Ability to work in onboard Range vessels at Sea or docked
Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 lbs.
Ability to walk, stand or sit in various positions for periods greater than 30 minutes
Other desirable Skills:
Familiarization with ROV, TROV, SORD Recovery System Components.
Ability to work and perform in a fast‐paced, high stress environment while maintaining control of the myriad of systems supporting PNW range operations.
Good working knowledge of MS Office Software
Successful candidate will be self‐motivated, have an aptitude for electro‐mechanical devices and test systems, is able to work independently or part of a team, has good computer skills, has a willingness to follow company and regulatory policies, and desires to learn new skills.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 3‐5 years related electro‐ mechanical experience is required. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Will be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check or hold an active security clearance.
