19-0701 Maintenance Electronics Technician - UTRE Pinger

Celeris Systems is seeking a Maintenance Electronics Technician to support maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and installation of various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g. Undersea Tracking Range Equipment (UTRE)/Tracking Pingers), measuring and controlling equipment.

General Skills Required:

  • Read and follow electro-mechanical technical procedures and drawings

  • Perform electrical test/measurement, setup and monitor test instrumentation and software

  • Perform mechanical assembly

  • Data base entry, query, report generation

  • Basic MS Office proficiency in Word and Excel

  • Translate customer work order into hardware configuration requirements

 Qualifications Desired:

  • Torque Wrench

  • Hazardous Materials Users Guide

  • Explosives Safety

  • Electrostatic Discharge

  • MK 46, MK 54 and MK 48 Weapon Familiarization

May operate, under supervision, one-of-kind equipment, developmental equipment or equipment which is continually being modified or adapted and does not have adequate documentation.

Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to perform simple and routine tasks following detailed instructions and procedures, taking test readings using common test instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators and oscilloscopes. Person works under supervision, receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher level technician.

Person is assigned, as required, to the UTRE/Pinger Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) Group. The work involves using state-of-the-art pneumatic, electrical, electro-hydraulic, hydraulic, acoustic and mechanical equipment and computer-based programs.

Will assist, under supervision, in the operation of equipment assigned to the UTRE/Pinger IMA including, but not limited to, SFSK/PSK underwater tracking pingers and SFSK Synchronizers utilized for heavyweight and lightweight weapon test tracking.

Performs a variety of work processes that requires the application of a considerable number of different basic established methods, procedures and techniques.

May lift moderately heavy loads while moving equipment.

Work is performed in an office and shop setting. May work onboard ships at sea and ride range craft.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  3-5 years related electro-mechanical experience is required.  Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.  Will be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check or hold an active security clearance.

Wage/Salary: This is a full time position, wages commensurate with experience.
