17-0306 Engineering Technicians Levels IV

Candidate supports U.S. Navy operations Shipboard Electronic Systems Evaluation Facility (SESEF), San Diego, CA. This position performs a combination of such typical duties as: coordinating shipboard technical assistance programs to ensure timely resolution of all ship Tactical Data Link TADIL A (11) & TADIL J (16) Systems: Tactical Data communication systems including Link 11 & Link 16 testing using various test capabilities. A detailed knowledge of information regarding Tactical Data Link Operation, Testing and Evaluation including link 16 and link 11. The successful candidate must be able to perform test, fault isolation and repair operations to support to validate both system and network operation. The candidate should also be able to conduct troubleshooting, isolation, and repairs to mechanical and electrical/electronic systems, and conducting maintenance IAW PMS, technical and manufacturer’s manual(s).

In addition, the candidate should have familiarity and understanding of the following systems or processes:

  • Communication Systems Testing:

  • Voice and Tele-Type systems:

  • Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) System Testing:

  • Conduct Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) Certification:

  • Conduct Antenna Radiation Pattern (ARPs) Runs:

  • ECM / ESM System Testing:

  • Radio Direction Finding (RDF) Testing:

  • Radar Cross Section (RCS) Measurements:

  • Light Airborne Multi-Purpose (LAMPS) MK III C and KU Band Systems:

  • Common Data Link System (CDLS) Testing:

Successful candidate will be self-motivated, experienced interior communications, cryptographical equipment and processes, sonar, military communications systems, and Tactical Digital Information links. And be capable of providing briefing and escort Services along with being able to operate Forklift and Cat III Cranes.

Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Will be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check or hold an active security clearance.

Wage/Salary: This is a full time position, wages commensurate with experience.
