17-0305 Electro-Mechanical/Mechanical Maintenance MK30/UUV OpSite
Candidate supports U.S. Navy operations at Keyport, WA, primarily in undersea vehicle OpSite maintenance. Duties entail all phases of repairing, overhauling, upgrading, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and modification of assigned UUV's by applying standard shop processes and procedures. Assists in the teardown and buildup of MK 30/UUV assemblies. Performs bench mechanical/electromechanical modification, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting on complex electro-mechanical and mechanical systems/configurations or subsystems of complex equipment. An example of this would be UUVs, test/training vehicles, test/training vehicle groups, test/training vehicle subgroups, test/training vehicle sub-assemblies, compensators, control assemblies, motors, pressure regulator and other subassemblies for vehicle and non-vehicle workload while following the proper technical direction and audit trail requirements. Duties include preparing and maintaining associated component maintenance documentation. Candidate performs duties using regular test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices and specifications. Assists in the determination of the serviceability of related equipment. Will receive formal on-the-job training to learn the work of a mechanic who is involved with MK30 Target/Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Electromechanical System Design, Modification, Repair, Maintenance and Support.
Successful candidate will be self-motivated, have an aptitude for electro-mechanical devices, is able to work independently or part of a team, has good computer skills, has a willingness to follow company and regulatory policies, and desires to learn new skills.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Very desirable to have prior training and/or work experience in US Navy undersea systems. Must have knowledge of the scopes and limitations of various categories of electronic test equipment and their applications to the contract unit. Must be capable of using and reading blueprints, and data tables. Three (3) years repair experience in electro-mechanical/mechanical systems is required. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Will be required to pass a U.S. Government background security check or hold an active security clearance.
Wage/Salary: This is a full time position, wages commensurate with experience.
