NEWS:

Anaheim, CA (March 4,  2009) - Celeris Systems, Inc., was in Seattle, Washington with the Microsoft  Product Development team as part of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program assisting Microsoft in their software development.  Celeris Systems Director of Project Management, Mr. Jim Aksel; a Microsoft Most Valued Professional (MVP), Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), was invited to interact with the Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software development teams because of his recognized breadth and depth of knowledge in the field of project management and scheduling.

While on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington, Mr. Aksel met with the product leadership team developing the next generation of Microsoft Project, a project management and scheduling tool.  Microsoft Project has two components, a client (desktop) application and a corresponding server used for project portfolio analysis and enterprise project management.

"It is a great pleasure of ours to be able to participate in the discussions with Microsoft and other MVPs from around the world and other industries, and our hope is that this will make us better able to service our customers." said Rex Wiig, President of Celeris Systems.

Discussions centered on software quality and schedule integrity. Mr. Aksel made several insightful comments on the upcoming versions of Microsoft Project which the leadership team stated would be immediately incorporated into both the client and server versions of the upcoming release of Microsoft Project.  Although details remain under a Non-Disclosure Agreement, the inputs assure the future versions of the software will produce accurate and meaningful schedule models congruent with national standards such as the Program Management Institute Standard for Scheduling. Other information exchanged with Microsoft allows for increases of accuracy in executive reporting.  Additional suggestions from Mr. Aksel regarding both qualitative and quantitative aspects of Microsoft Project client and server will be evaluated for the next generation of Microsoft project.

Microsoft recognizes the expertise of known experts in the field with the designation of Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for each of their specific software products. There are 10 MVPs for Microsoft Project in the United States, one of which is Mr. Aksel; there are 30 such people worldwide.  Mr. Aksel has been with Celeris Systems since shortly after their inception and is  routinely contacted for his expertise in project management. In addition to his industry credentials, Mr. Aksel holds masters degrees in both Management and Computer Science.
